Director of Rooms

Region

Luxury & Lifestyle

Company Description

208 rooms, a beach across the road, and a hotel that opened in June 2025 with the deliberate intention of not behaving like every other tower on the Glitter Strip. Mondrian is a way of travel. With its groundbreaking design and progressive programming, it is a “must” destination for locals or travellers. Mondrian is always at the heart of the most exciting cultural scenes in the world, serving up innovation and creativity for everyone.

We're after someone to lead the Rooms Division — Front Office, Guest Relations, Housekeeping and strategic support across departments

Job Description

What you'll actually be doing

•     Owning the guest journey end to end, with particular focus on arrival — the first ninety seconds set the tone for the whole stay

•     Building and holding the standards: spot checks, task checklists, service sequence, brand consistency across every touchpoint

•     Reading guest feedback properly — finding the pattern, building the action plan, presenting it to the exec team, closing the loop

•     Meeting and greeting VIP and loyalty guests personally

•     Setting and hitting the Rooms Division budget with the owners and Director of Finance — revenue, payroll, expenditure, market share

•     Driving the upsell strategy and the limousine operation as genuine revenue lines, not afterthoughts

•     Managing labour cost and productivity without letting standards slide, including on peak and special event days

•        Developing a large, culturally diverse team: reducing turnover, lifting engagement, removing the barriers that get in people’s way

•     Keeping everyone safe, every shift

What's on offer

•     A senior seat on the leadership team of a hotel still writing its own playbook

•     Competitive Salary

•     Accommodation discounts across Ennismore/Accor, meals on duty, parking, wellbeing]

Qualifications

What you'll bring

•     Senior Rooms Division leadership experience in a luxury or lifestyle hotel

•     Genuine commercial literacy — you can build a budget, read a P&L and explain a variance

•     Housekeeping depth, not just Front Office. This role needs both

•     The judgement to anticipate rather than react, and the intuition to spot what a guest wants before they ask

•     A leadership style that builds trust across a diverse team and holds a standard at the same time

•     Comfort operating in a lifestyle brand environment where personality is part of the product
