“Directeur / Directrice de l’Exploitation” will play a key role in guiding the hotel’s operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences, engaged colleagues, and strong financial performance, while embodying the values and French DNA of the Sofitel brand. Reporting to the Area General Manager, this role includes the authority to manage the hotel in their absence and requires a visionary leader capable of inspiring and developing teams.


Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

Business Performance

  • Support the annual budgeting process and operational financial forecasts.
  • Maximize revenue and profit potential across all operational departments while managing costs within budget guidelines.
  • Analyse monthly P&L and reports, identifying deviations from business plan objectives and implementing corrective actions.

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Ensure guest satisfaction and exceptional service standards, while maintaining market competitiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and manage departmental annual and long-term goals aligned with the hotel’s vision.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate audits, local health and safety, and all statutory regulations.
  • Represent the Sofitel brand with credibility and sophistication to guests, colleagues, and the local community.
  • Support positive and constructive relationships with the hotel owner.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Inspire, train, coach, and develop departmental managers and team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Monitor performance, attitude, and professionalism across all teams.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, motivated, and service-oriented work environment, reflecting Sofitel’s French hospitality DNA.

Commercial & Revenue Focus

  • Instil a commercial mindset through continuous engagement, upselling initiatives, incentives, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the cluster Sales team to optimize offers and drive revenue across the hotel.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable hospitality school preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of operational management experience, ideally with F&B and/or Sales focus, or at least 2 years in a similar senior role.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, business acumen, and financial management.
  • Mandatory high level of French speaking and writing and excellent command of English; proficiency in the local language is desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
