Role overview:
The position is responsible for all financial functions including Cash Management, Payables, Audit and Controls, Accounting and Reporting, Budget, Credit and Collections, insurance, and tax. The functions are to follow the generally accepted accounting standards. The DOF must be able to provide the Owners, General Manager, and other management with accurate, timely, and relevant financial information. Additionally, the DOF is responsible to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. In order to contribute to the overall success of the organization, the DOF must effectively manage all financial tasks for the organization and be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. The DOF must rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor while engaging with internal and external guests.

Key responsibilities:
- Analyzes results of strategies and tactics deployed periodically and provides communication necessary to hotels teams, regional teams, and ownership groups.
- Ensures sufficient funds prior to processing disbursements.
- Ensures accuracy for the hotel financial forecasting is within ACCOR standards.
- Ensures compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements of the organization.
- Ensures special reporting and analysis projects, based on industry, hotel, corporate and owning company requests that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Establishes guidelines and deadlines for budget and forecast preparation.
- Prepares and distributes monthly financial reporting to internal management.
- Prepares financial reports and submissions to relevant government entities.
- Prepares, reviews and approves Budget and Capital Expense Plan.
- Provides ACCOR Corporation with financial and statistical reporting as required.
- Provides reports and/or payments to government regulatory agencies (e.g. Tax, freight customs, immigration).
- Provides up-to-date financial analysis and reporting with recommendations that support and evaluate hotel business strategies.
- Reviews and approves all manual General Ledger journal entries
- Reviews and approves Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations.
- Reviews and ensures Capital Expenditure Authorization Requests are in line with Budget or Operational requirements.
- Verifies prepaid expenses, ensuring deferred charges are up-to-date and in agreement with the books.

- 会計、商学、または経営管理学の大学学位または短大卒業資格があること。
- 公認会計士または税理士(税理士)の資格があれば尚可

- 生産性を向上させるために新しい技術や機器を導入できる。
- インターネットや電子メール アプリケーションの使用に関する知識がある。
- 整数、常分数、小数を使用して、すべての測定単位で加算、減算、乗算、除算ができる。
- レート、比率、パーセントを計算し、棒グラフを描画して解釈できる。
- Excel、Word、Outlook の使用に関する知識がある。
- 一般に認められた会計原則に関する知識がある。
- 雇用基準、労働安全衛生、人権に関する州の法律に関する知識がある

Finance Specific Education/Experience
- Understands hotel operation, USALI(Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry) , Taxation system(Consumption Tax Law, Corporate Tax Law).
- University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management / Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant or Tax Accountant (Zeirishi) is a plus
Technical Skills-Finance
- Able to adopt new technology and equipment to improve productivity
- Knowledgeable in using internet and email applications.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Knowledgeable of the general accepted accounting principles.
- Knowledgeable of provincial legislation on Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety, and Human Rights
