We are looking for a Director of Culture & Entertainment to join the re-opening of the famed Delano Miami Beach.
Set to open its doors in late 2025, Delano Miami Beach will fuse historic charm with contemporary luxury, reflecting a reimagined experience that pays homage to the original visionary concept. Comprising 170 rooms and distinct food and beverage concepts, the hotel will preserve its iconic walk-in pool and, in addition, unveil a new pool on an amenity deck, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Delano Miami Beach will act as the brand’s flagship location, re-establishing Delano as a trailblazer in luxury lifestyle hospitality. Ennismore, in partnership with Cain International (the owners of Delano Miami Beach as well as partner in the Delano brand), are currently undertaking a significant renovation and redevelopment of the iconic Delano hotel with an aim to open its doors again ahead of the 2025 winter high season.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the general guidance of the Director of Marketing and Chief Brand Officer, the Director of Culture & Entertainment is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all cultural programming and entertainment initiatives at the property. This role involves managing vendor relationships, member programming, and curating guest and member experiences that align with Delano’s brand and strategic goals. The Director is also responsible for developing and executing Delano’s brand initiatives, tactical plans to enhance guest and member engagement, and increase overall property revenue through events, activations, and cultural experiences. This position plays a key role in differentiating Delano in the market and contributing to its reputation, profitability, and long-term success.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cultural and entertainment strategy that aligns with the Delano’s brand, target audience, and overall business goals.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all cultural events, live entertainment, themed experiences, and guest activations.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Chief Brand Officer to ensure all programming supports brand positioning, drives guest and member engagement, and enhances visibility across marketing channels.
- Curate a diverse calendar of events that reflects local culture, seasonal trends, and guest and member preferences to increase property traffic and guest satisfaction.
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with artists, performers, cultural institutions, and event vendors to deliver high quality and engaging experiences.
- Oversee the entertainment team, providing leadership, training, and performance management to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service and memorable experiences.
- Monitor event budgets, ensuring all programming is delivered within financial targets while maximizing return on investment.
- Analyze guest and member feedback, attendance data, and market trends to evaluate program effectiveness and continuously optimize the entertainment offering.
- Work cross functionally with operations, F&B, and guest services teams to ensure seamless execution of events and activations.
- Ensure all cultural and entertainment activities comply with safety regulations, licensing requirements, and brand standards.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership in the spirit of teamwork and excellence.
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.
- We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various
related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the venue teams.
- Communicate with team members using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
- Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations.
- Make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Arts, Marketing, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum five years of leadership experience in cultural programming, entertainment management, or events within a comparable upscale, lifestyle, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Proven track record in curating, organizing, and executing successful entertainment and cultural events that enhance guest experience and drive brand engagement.
- Strong understanding of guest demographics, entertainment trends, and cultural programming within the hospitality or tourism industry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, manage vendor partnerships, and work collaboratively across departments.
- Basic understanding of legal contract language
- Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
- An intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is preferred
- Enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
- Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
- Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
- Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
- Must be able to stand or walk a minimum of eight-hour shifts.
- Must be able to be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
- Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
