Join our culinary team as a Commis I at the Flying Elephant in Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha! We're seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients
- Follow recipes and cooking instructions as directed by senior kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations during service
- Perform basic cooking tasks under the supervision of experienced chefs
- Help with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and recipes
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to use standard kitchen equipment and tools safely and efficiently
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively
- Positive attitude and passion for the culinary arts
