Our Resort boasts 150 luxuriously appointed bungalow style villas, an award-winning resort with conference and wedding facilities and a day spa. All located in one of the most beautiful locations, Margaret River Region, Western Australia; enjoy whale watching from the restaurant terrace during the Margaret River’s exhilarating annual whale watching season.

We offer great pay rates, discounted food / accommodation plus much more. We are seeking an experienced full time or Casual Commis Chef to join our team.


Job Description

We are looking for someone with a friendly, customer focused attitude with the ability to provide service from the heart. Previous Commis Chef experience in a Resort / Hotel style environment is highly desirable, but no essential. Some of your duties will include:

  • Assist with ordering necessary food items according to business needs and demands
  • Work with and coordinate the Cooks in the preparation and production of food as required
  • Prepare mis-en place as required
  • Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the Resort.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, whereby you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining stock control procedures.

Qualifications

  • An ability to demonstrate your confident personality and a passion to learn and be challenged.
  • Strong understanding of modern food trends.
  • Trade qualified.
  • Full working rights in Australia (we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role).
  • Ability to secure your own transport and accommodation.
  • Willing to work a range of shifts as we are open 7 days per week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
