Job Description

  • Ensure baking of pastries and croissants and set up for various breakfast buffet stations
  • Ensure production and presentation pastries and cakes for our Lobby car meet set standards.
  • Knowledge of all pastry methods involved in the preparation of items produced in Pastry Kitchen.
  • Maintain open communication between the pastry kitchen and other departments within the hotel. 
  • Ensuring food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet all Sofitel Brand Standards and are maintained at that level. 
  • Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained to meet Work Health and Safety regulations and HACCP food preparation guidelines. 
  • Accountable for the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment, counter tops, and shelves.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven.
  • Any other duties assigned by your manager. 

Please note that the working hours for the role consist of a rotation roster beginning from approximately 05:30 - 13:30

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.  
  • 1 - 2 years experience in a similar role. 
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends & public holidays.
  • Working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
