Job Description

Ready for a sizzling career move? You will play a pivotal hands-on role in our kitchen working alongside a great team. The food you prepare, cook, and serve makes our guests smile and wanting more.

What you will be doing:

  • Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the environment and menus
  • Ensure the consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to property recipes and standards
  • Communicate effectively with the rest of the team and thrive for guest feedback
  • Show a passion and creativity for food, ingredients and flavours.
  • Lead the team in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes with pride and precision.
  • Are responsible for running a section and supporting the Head Chef in a busy kitchen
  • Are confident in managing, training and passing on your knowledge to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or ready to step-up Demi-Chef, with experience developing and motivating staff.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade assessment
  • Excellent ability to communicate and build positive working relationships with the team, suppliers and service staff.
  • Relevant qualification including strong knowledge of HACCP
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively time manage large volume work load, to meet deadlines and work well under pressure situations
  • A flexible and resilient approach to challenges
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work cohesively and collectively as part of a team
