Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq. As a key member of our construction projects, you will be responsible for executing various carpentry tasks with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in carpentry techniques, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and execute carpentry projects
  • Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings in buildings
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using various hand and power tools
  • Install doors, windows, trim, and hardware with attention to detail and finish
  • Build and install custom cabinetry, furniture, and other wooden fixtures as required
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project goals are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Adhere to local building codes and regulations specific to Baghdad, Iraq
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on existing wooden structures
  • Estimate material quantities and costs for projects
  • Mentor and guide junior carpenters, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere

Qualifications

 

 

  • 3-5 years of professional carpentry experience
  • Proven skills in framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, and millwork
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Expert knowledge of carpentry tools and equipment, with a focus on safety
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Baghdad, Iraq
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
