Job Description

About the job…

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Novotel Surfers Paradise.  This is a Monday – Friday, Full Time position role, based at the property. 

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing and supported by another Business Development Manager and experienced Sales Administrator, the role will be responsible for converting incoming leads and generating new business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all proposals, negotiation and contracts are issued in an efficient and professional manner.  Ensuring banqueting profitability guidelines are adhered to.
  • Represent the property conferences, tradeshows, networking events, familiarisations, sales missions and site inspections
  • Conduct client site inspections and hosted client events
  • Implement sales call plan (including one/two days on the road per month) to achieve business objectives and budgeted profits for the hotel
  • Maintain and manage a client database via the CRM system
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales activities and results to Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Identify and initiate new revenue streams for the hotel
  • Proactively explore new event, group and corporate coming to the region
  • Manage client journey from initial enquiry to post-event follow up
  • Collaborate with the various hotel teams to create new offerings
  • Engage with industry partners & the Accor network to promote the hotel and investigate new opportunities for the property

Qualifications

About you…

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience with Delphi Sales Force, Opera PMS and or ANAIS is highly regarded
  • Recent experience in the Events and/or high volume, fast paced, results orientated business environments
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher and MS PowerPoint
  • Vibrant personality, professional and always well-presented
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work within a team environment
  • Must hold valid Australian work rights
