Behind the bar at Birdie G’s, Chef Jeremy Fox’s acclaimed California brasserie, that means crafting seasonal, ingredient-driven cocktails and turning a quick drink into the best part of a guest’s night. As Bartender, you’re part mixologist, part host and part storyteller. You’ll bring polish and personality to every pour, build connections with hotel guests and LA locals, and help make our bar a destination in its own right. What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Management team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Master the craft

• Prepare cocktails and beverages to Fairmont and Accor recipes and presentation standards, with consistency and flair.
• Maintain deep knowledge of spirits, wine, beer and cocktails, as well as the food menu and how dishes are prepared.
• Recommend pairings and guide guests to the drink that’s right for them.

Create memorable moments

• Welcome every guest warmly and make them feel special.
• Deliver friendly, engaging and attentive service from first order to last call.
• Share local recommendations and the story of Century Plaza’s history.
• Represent the bar, the hotel and the Fairmont brand with pride.

Run a tight bar

• Keep the bar and prep areas clean, organized and ready for service.
• Control costs and waste, handle cash accurately and complete closing paperwork thoroughly.
• Serve responsibly and follow all liquor laws.
• Support teammates and managers, and step in wherever the team needs you.

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous bartending experience in a luxury, high-volume bar or restaurant
• Excellent knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine and beer
• Previous customer service experience required; barista experience is a plus
• POS system experience preferred
• Calm, courteous and efficient under pressure
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Reliable and self-motivated; works well independently and as part of a small team
• Advanced spoken and written English
• Strong cash-handling skills
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet throughout a shift
• California Food Handler Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification, or the ability to get them within [30] days of hire
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
