Welcome to HitchHike – the newest restaurant concept in the heart of The Hague. Here it’s all about flavor, vibe, and that open-road mentality: from Cali bowls to tropical cocktails and laidback surf energy. We serve Cali-Baja Cuisine: sunny, colorful, and always with a twist.

What you’ll be doing
Your mission is to turn every visit into a unique experience. As Bartender, you’re the face of HitchHike: approachable, passionate about mixology, and ready to inspire your colleagues to create moments that last through our drinks menu. Your mantra is clear: build an authentic experience with a strong focus on cocktails.
Job Description
Your Vibes & Challenges
- Mixing, shaking & innovating – you develop a drinks menu that’s just as creative as our kitchen.
- Training the team in mixology, hospitality, and presentation.
- Selecting only the best: premium spirits, fresh ingredients, top quality.
- Creating a bar setting that sparks interaction and bubbles with creativity.
- Running the bar like a pro: keeping stock in check and costs under control.
- Co-creating events that revolve around mixology and themed evenings guests won’t forget.
Qualifications
Who you are
A bartender with style, taste, and skills. You know how to serve an experience in a glass, but also how to inspire a team and run a bar like it’s your second home. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, keep cool under pressure, and stay positive and professional at all times.
You bring
- At least 2 years of bar experience in a vibrant hospitality environment
- Extensive mixology knowledge and a passion for surprising creations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to train and inspire others
- An eye for taste, presentation, and that extra touch
- Solid skills in stock management and cost control
- A flexible mindset – evenings and weekends are your playground
- Fluency in English
- Available full-time (38 hours, 5 days per week), or parttime on-call, and who brings several years of experience.
