Banquets Houseperson

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Banquets, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth setup and breakdown of banquet events. Your key duties include:

  • Providing professional, friendly, and engaging service at all times
  • Setting up and tearing down meeting and banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Safely lifting, moving, and storing tables, chairs, and staging equipment
  • Maintaining cleanliness in banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, and service spaces
  • Reporting unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or repair needs promptly
  • Following departmental procedures, hotel standards, and all health and safety guidelines
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support the team

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in guest service or a similar physical/operational role
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
  • A team player mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnights

Physical Requirements 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, and bending
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • Manual dexterity and ability to carry multiple items simultaneously (e.g., 3 entrée plates)
