Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Banquet Manager to join our hospitality team in Istanbul, Türkiye. As a Banquet Manager you will be responsible for orchestrating seamless banquet operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team, drive operational excellence, and contribute to our organization's reputation for outstanding service in one of the world's most vibrant cities.

  • Deliver consistently professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality
  • Oversee the efficient day-to-day operations of the Banquet Department, ensuring all functions run smoothly and on schedule
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise food and beverage services, ensuring prompt, courteous, and efficient execution of all banquet events
  • Interact proactively with guests throughout events to ensure exceptional service delivery and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Conference Services and Catering teams to ensure guest requirements are clearly understood and met
  • Establish and maintain regular, effective communication within the department through briefings, team meetings, and daily interactions with all supporting departments
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, captains, and assistant managers while fostering accountability and professional growth
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide continuous development opportunities to ensure team excellence
  • Implement and enforce health and safety standards across all banquet operations
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and inventory management throughout the department
  • Complete all administrative duties with accuracy, including banquet billing, payroll management, staffing coordination, and setup documentation
  • Build and maintain constructive, harmonious working relationships with all supporting departments
  • Identify and resolve guest service issues promptly through an active presence on the banquet floor
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a Banquet department within a comparable hospitality establishment
  • Proven track record of managing food and beverage operations in a professional hotel or event venue setting
  • Post-secondary degree in Hospitality, Food and Beverage Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to execute functions effectively with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong leadership qualities and proven management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Property Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and point-of-sale systems
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a positive, professional attitude under pressure
  • Strong delegation skills with the ability to ensure task completion and accountability
  • Experience in a unionized environment (strong asset)
  • Multilingual capabilities, particularly Turkish and English (preferred)
  • Budget management and cost control experience
  • Vendor relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Turkish hospitality standards and cultural awareness (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work hours corresponding with hotel, guest, and business demands
  • Crisis management and problem-resolution abilities
  • Resilience and adaptability in dynamic hospitality environments
