Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North comprises a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort boasts panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s Meryal Waterpark attraction. The Rig 1938 is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.


Job Description

AVR Technician

This position is responsible for the physical setup, safe transport, and takedown of all AV equipment for meetings, events, shows, and venues. This position ensures that the team has the necessary gear / set-up when and where they need it, contributing to seamless, high-quality event production.

  • Efficiently and safely transport, load, and unload A/V equipment (speakers, projectors, screens, cables, mixing desks, etc.) between storage, function rooms, restaurant, and event venues.
  • Execute the physical setup and takedown of A/V equipment, ensuring proper placement and aesthetics as per event layout plans and the instruction of the AV Supervisor.
  • Run, coil, and safely secure all necessary cables, power cords, and signal lines to ensure a clean, professional, and hazard-free environment.
  • Assist in the conversion and set-up of meeting rooms and function areas to meet the specific technical requirements of the guest or event.
  • Assist supervisor with the preparation and handling of equipment as directed, always strictly adhering to safety protocols.
  • Report all equipment damage, missing inventory, safety hazards, and major technical faults to the immediate supervisor without delay.

Qualifications

  • Secondary / High school education.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a support role, preferably within an A/V environment, hospitality (hotel/resort), or live events company.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of A/V equipment, including different cable types (XLR, HDMI, VGA), microphones, speakers, and simple mixers.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment up to 25 kg and stand/walk for long periods during event setups and operations.
  • Good communication skills in the English language.
