Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant IT Manager to join our dynamic team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As the Assistant IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the IT department's operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our technological infrastructure, and driving innovation within our organisation.

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring high standards of service and system performance
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organisational goals
  • Lead and inspire a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Manage IT projects, including planning, resource allocation, and timely delivery
  • Oversee the maintenance and upgrades of hardware, software, and network systems
  • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organisation's digital assets
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT issues
  • Develop and conduct training programmes to enhance the IT skills of staff across the organisation
  • Monitor and analyse system performance, recommending and implementing improvements as needed
  • Assist in budgeting and financial planning processes for the IT department
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technological needs and provide innovative solutions
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending adoptions that could benefit the organisation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT management or a similar role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing IT operations and driving technological improvements
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network systems, and cybersecurity
  • Experience with project management and IT service delivery
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT)
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies and services
  • Proficiency in using relevant IT systems and software
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff and stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Vietnamese or other languages would be advantageous
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are desirable
  • Flexibility to adapt to the unique challenges of working in Phu Quoc, Vietnam
