Job Description

What you will be doing: 

  • Directly responsible for operation and repairs of existing High Pressure Steam Boilers, Chillers, Air Handling Units, AC/DC Drives, Fire System, Emergency Generators, Sewage Plant equipment, Reverse Osmosis Plant, pumps and motors.
  • Distributing of work orders 
  • Scheduling weekly maintenance personnel 
  • Training maintenance personnel 
  • Helping with daily payroll editing 
  • Assisting with the management of the department budget 
  • Ordering materials and parts for the department, in relation to building equipment
  • Organizing and maintaining minimum levels of parts and materials in the maintenance storeroom 
  • Assisting the lead shift building operators and maintenance technicians with trouble-shooting, preventative maintenance programs and emergencies 
  • Working closely with the Director of Facilities Operations on annual operational and capital budget items 
  • Coordinating with all departments in the hotel to accomplish daily maintenance job tasks 
  • Scheduling Preventative Maintenance of equipment, operation and repairs of the existing equipment 
  • Monitoring and maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems as scheduled 
  • Ensuring departmental adherence to brand standards   

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years experience, to include three (3) years Assistant Director of Engineering or equivalent in a large luxury hotel or large multi facility building 
  • A Third Class Power Engineer Certificate (or higher) or equivalent experience is required
  • Hands on repair and maintenance experience with boilers, chillers, pumps, AHUs, etc.
  • Additional extra trade certificate and inventory management would be an asset 
  • Strong knowledge of EMS Automatic Logic Supervision Control (or similar systems)
  • Strong Organizational and leadership skills 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills of building systems and computer applications 
  • A working knowledge of all building systems and codes 
  • A working knowledge of blue prints, wiring diagrams and hydronics 

Additional Information

Schedules:  Irregular hours including nights, weekends and public holidays and 24 hours on call apply to this position
