Job Description

  • Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily operations, ensuring effective maintenance and repair of all hotel assets.
  • Manage the Engineering & Maintenance team to uphold safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction across the property.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Drive performance and efficiency within the Engineering team through coaching and motivation.
  • Champion the hotel's fire safety program, ensuring readiness of all safety equipment and compliance with local regulations.
  • Act as the department’s Training Champion, coordinating regular technical and safety training sessions.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safe work practices and BizSAFE Level 3 standards for staff and external contractors.
  • Propose and implement energy and resource conservation initiatives to support the hotel’s sustainability goals.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety, building, and environmental codes.
  • Liaise with external vendors, service providers, consultants, architects, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably within hotels, building facilities, or construction maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player with a hands-on, proactive approach to operations.
