Job Description

As the Director of Talent & Culture, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and vision for the hotel’s people policies and standards. You will oversee all aspects of human resources management, ensuring alignment with Accor’s luxury brand standards, Sofitel’s values, and Greek labor laws.

You will act as a T&C business partner to the General Manager, ensuring that the hotel’s manning structure is optimized, that payroll costs are monitored effectively, and that all people-related decisions contribute to the hotel's overall performance and success.

Your leadership will foster a culture of engagement and excellence, ensuring Sofitel Athens Aiport remains an employer of choice in the luxury hospitality sector. You will oversee Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Payroll, Personnel & Benefits Administration, and Employer Branding.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Support the management team in attracting, selecting, and retaining top talent.
  • Advertise vacancies using Sofitel’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and ensure a strong employer brand presence.
  • Optimise the hotel’s manning structure, ensuring the right staffing levels while maintaining service excellence.
  • Ensure full compliance with Greek labour law during recruitment and employment contracts.

2. Talent Management & Leadership Development

  • Oversee the annual Talent Management Cycle process defined by Sofitel.
  • Identify and develop high-potential employees for leadership programs and career progression.
  • Provide strategic guidance to department heads on team development, performance management, and leadership coaching.

3. Learning & Development

  • Develop and deliver training programs tailored to luxury hospitality and Sofitel’s service culture.
  • Ensure the sofitel training program is fully integrated into daily hotel operations through continuous training and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, ensuring employees have access to development opportunities.

4. Employee Relations & Legal Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Greek labour laws, employment regulations, and collective agreements.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary procedures, conflict resolution, and grievance handling in a fair and legally compliant manner.
  • Serve as the hotel’s key advisor on employment law, policies, and HR best practices.
  • Ensure correct record-keeping, payroll administration, and benefits management to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate employee benefits and seek opportunities to enhance the hotel’s compensation and retention strategy.

5. Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax and social security laws.
  • Monitor payroll costs, ensuring they align with the hotel’s budget and profitability goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of salaries, benefits, contracts, and employment documentation.

6. Talent Engagement & Employee Experience

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, dialogue, and feedback, ensuring employees feel valued and engaged.
  • Organise the Sofitel employee recognition programs, including Heartist of the Month, Manager of the Quarter, and special milestone celebrations.
  • Ensure employee facilities are inviting, well-maintained, and support a positive workplace atmosphere.

7. Employer Branding & Industry Partnerships

  • Actively use hotel social media to promote team successes, job vacancies, and engagement activities.
  • Build partnerships with hospitality schools, universities, and HR networks to attract top talent.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, regional T&C meetings, and Accor HR community discussions.
  • Share best practices with the Sofitel and Accor network, strengthening the hotel’s positioning as a luxury employer.

8. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

  • Champion DEI initiatives, ensuring an inclusive and diverse workplace.
  • Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, including sustainability goals, community outreach, and workplace well-being initiatives.
  • Ensure all HR processes are fair, transparent, and inclusive, promoting equal opportunities for all employees.

Qualifications

  • Greek language mandatory
