This property is destined to become an illustrious destination in the Central Business District, nearby the city’s renowned and historic French Quarter.


Job Description

What do we expect from you?

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager is accountable for sharing the story of Fairmont New Orleans by leveraging all digital platforms available, through digital invitations, inspiration and storytelling.  This role supports the Director of Sales & Marketing in executing strategies in digital marketing, social media, content development, and online reputation management, and measures success through outcomes supported by analytics and reporting.

  • Be a part of a pre-opening team
  • Create curated content with direction from the Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure it amplifies key messages and tells a story consistent with our hotel and Fairmont brand identity, while managing and monitoring the hotel’s presence on Social Media networks (primarily Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) in conjunction with input and support from the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Responsible for guest and community engagement on relevant social media channels
  • Utilize available programs to integrate proper User Generated Content
  • Manage on-line and social reputation for the hotel, manage content and implementation for all (integrated) social media initiatives and web content with PR Agency/Contractor and DOSM
  • Contribute regularly to Corporate social media initiatives, and implement local social media partnerships for cross-promotional opportunities
  • With direction and assistance from Director of Sales & Marketing, update and maintain property website, app and external booking engines within the corporate standards, and maintain current image library and video footage to maximize media coverage
  • Create and coordinate monthly (and as needed) email blasts to local email lists through our Fairmont programs with input and support from the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Assist with video and photo shoots at the hotel as well as create new, on-brand photography for social media posts as needed
  • Develop briefs for digital campaigns, oversee paid media content strategy, manage creative trafficking, analyzing results, and reporting on key learnings
  • Partners with Director of Revenue Management to monitor Fairmont.com performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Work with corporate PR to develop and execute brand initiatives
  • Write and disseminate press kits, releases, editors’ advisories, calendar listings
  • Conduct media and influencer property tours and develop itineraries as needed
  • Direct day-to-day website management, recommendations for improvement for responsive design, implementation of enhancements, and achieving website revenue goals, and website KPIs
  • Work closely with appropriate teams to develop new guest offers, identify and implement timely actions that improve website conversions and average booking values, and provide reports on the improvement plan, execution, and results
  • Manage vendor relationships with applicable technology and marketing partners and escalate and document opportunities and/or service problems with recommended solutions
  • Execute corporate e-commerce campaigns to support the hotel strategic marketing plans working within the established budgets
  • Optimize SEO/SEM for the property vanity sites
  • Serve as a key contact in the hotel for the media, industry partners and the community champion philanthropic partnerships and promote environmental and social initiatives within the community, while raising the profile of both the hotel and the brand
  • Attend hotel promotional events as needed including weekends and evenings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field if preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing, conversion and customer acquisition.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills. 
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
    Ability to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Requires a working technical knowledge of digital marketing platforms.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Physical Demands

  • Exert physical effort in transporting miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas and reach 1-2 feet  
  • Remain in stationary position for 30 minutes – ability to stand or walk 2 hours throughout work shift
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers
