People & Culture, Director
Region
Luxury & Lifestyle
Fairmont Amman offers travelers and residents of Amman luxury accommodations in 317 spacious guest rooms and suites, including Fairmont Gold, the hotel’s exclusive hotel within a hotel. With a modern, beautiful architectural design and stunning interiors, we make use of the finest wood and marble, and our rooms and hotel interiors combine classic luxury with contemporary design, all housed in spacious rooms of at least 42 square meters or more.
Our People Shape Our Legacy
At Fairmont Amman, we believe that great hotels are built by great people and that leadership is measured by the impact we leave on others. As a flagship luxury hotel in Jordan, we are committed to creating an environment where colleagues feel respected, inspired, and proud of what they build together.
We are seeking a Director of People and Culture who leads with authenticity, emotional intelligence, and purpose. We strongly encourage female leaders to apply and welcome Jordanian nationals with experience in ultra‑luxury hotel environments who are passionate about developing people and shaping culture for the long term.
The Role and Its Purpose
As Director of People and Culture, you will be a key member of the Executive Committee and a trusted partner to the General Manager. Your role is to create the conditions in which people can do their best work and grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
This position is not about control or policies alone. It is about clarity, trust, accountability, and care. You will shape a culture that values calm leadership over noise, substance over ego, and long‑term development over short‑term fixes.
What You Will Lead
Culture and Leadership
You will cultivate a people culture rooted in respect, fairness, and genuine connection. You will actively champion female leadership, inclusive practices, and psychological safety, ensuring that leadership at Fairmont Amman is strong, humble, and consistent.
You will be visible, approachable, and credible at all levels, setting the tone for how leaders show up every day.
Strategic People Direction
You will design and deliver a People and Culture strategy that supports the hotel’s business ambitions, luxury positioning, and future vision. Working closely with the Executive Committee, you will help shape organizational structure, succession planning, and leadership pipelines with a strong focus on Jordanian talent.
You will support transformation and change in a thoughtful, human way that minimizes unnecessary drama and builds trust.
Talent and Employer Brand
You will position Fairmont Amman as an employer of choice by attracting individuals who share our values and commitment to excellence. Recruitment, onboarding, and internal mobility will be intentional, selective, and future focused.
You will strengthen local partnerships, support national development, and play an active role in positioning Fairmont Amman as a leader in people development within Jordan’s hospitality sector.
Learning, Growth, and Performance
You will embed a culture of continuous learning and honest feedback. Leadership development, performance management, and succession planning will be practical, fair, and meaningful rather than bureaucratic.
Your focus will be on building confident leaders who can operate in an ultra‑luxury environment with consistency, humility, and care.
Engagement, Wellbeing, and Governance
You will ensure colleagues feel heard, supported, and treated with dignity. Wellbeing, engagement, and recognition will be integrated into daily leadership behaviors, not treated as initiatives.
You will ensure full compliance with Jordanian labor law, Accor policies, and ethical standards, handling employee relations with maturity, empathy, and sound judgment.
Who You Are
You are an experienced People and Culture leader with a strong background in ultra‑luxury hotels or luxury lifestyle brands. You lead calmly, think strategically, and act with integrity.
You believe that leadership is about service, not status. You are comfortable influencing senior leaders while remaining deeply connected to colleagues on the floor.
You are passionate about developing people, especially women and national talent, and you take pride in building teams that are strong, resilient, and future ready.
Jordanian nationality is strongly preferred. Fluency in English is essential, and Arabic fluency is a strong advantage.
What We Offer
This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture of one of Jordan’s most prestigious luxury hotels and to leave a meaningful people legacy.
You will work in close partnership with a values‑driven General Manager and Executive Committee, with real influence and long‑term impact.
You will have access to Accor’s global learning platforms, leadership networks, and international career opportunities, supported by a competitive executive remuneration package.
Our Commitment
Fairmont Amman is committed to inclusion, fairness, and responsible leadership. We believe that empowering women and developing local talent are essential to the future of luxury hospitality in Jordan.
