Company Description

As the flagship hotel for the Mercure brand within Australia we invite you to belong to something bigger. We are a big hotel, looking for some big talent! With 517 newly refurbished rooms,11 conference rooms, and multiple food and beverage outlets, Mercure Sydney is on the look out for an experienced Painter to uphold the hotel standards. 

This position is responsible for painting, maintaining and repairing surfaces of the building, furniture, rooms and equipment throughout the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.


Job Description

  • Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the hotel and facilities
  • Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, mixing paint, matching paint and using brushes, rollers and spray-guns
  • Repair Gyprock walls and ceilings
  • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering.
  • Plan and prioritise jobs to ensure deadlines are met
  • Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the Hotels’ Property Management System (PMS)

Qualifications

  • Effectively time manage large volume work load, to meet deadlines and work well under pressure situations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills as well as attention to detail
  • A great team player, who proactively looks to assist where possible
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experienced painter (minimum 2 years desired)
