Job Description

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor – HVAC is responsible for supervising and maintaining the hotel's heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems to ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation. The role supports the Engineering team in maintaining guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily HVAC maintenance and repair activities.
  • Monitor and maintain air-conditioning systems, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems and related equipment.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance according to the hotel's maintenance schedule.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC faults and arrange timely repairs.
  • Supervise technicians and ensure maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections of HVAC equipment and identify potential issues before breakdowns occur.
  • Monitor equipment performance and energy consumption and highlight any abnormalities.
  • Ensure proper maintenance records, service reports and equipment logs are updated.
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialised HVAC works when required.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and spare parts are properly maintained and available.
  • Respond promptly to guest room and operational HVAC complaints.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental and hotel standards.
  • Support energy-saving and preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager with projects, inspections and other engineering activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC or Engineering-related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or commercial building.
  • Good knowledge of air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good supervisory and team management skills.
  • Able to work independently and respond to emergencies when required.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Open to Malaysian candidates only; preferably local Sarawakian.
