Job Description

Be part of the opening leadership team of Mercure Oradea, a contemporary midscale hotel featuring 90 rooms, four conference halls, a spa & wellness center, restaurant, café, lobby bar, and public areas designed to deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience.

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will support the Rooms Division Manager in supervising daily housekeeping operations, ensuring rooms and public areas meet Mercure and Accor brand standards for cleanliness, comfort, and presentation.

You will play an active role from the pre-opening phase through the hotel’s launch and stabilization, contributing to procedures, training, and the establishment of efficient workflows and service culture within the housekeeping department.

You will be responsible for:

Housekeeping Operations & Quality Control

  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and spa areas.
  • Ensure all rooms and areas meet Mercure and Accor cleanliness, hygiene, and brand presentation standards.
  • Conduct daily room inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate room status updates with Front Office to ensure accurate and timely availability.
  • Monitor linen, amenities, and minibar replenishment in line with standards.

Team Supervision & Training

  • Supervise room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry staff during assigned shifts.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of the housekeeping team in line with Accor’s Heartist culture.
  • Prepare daily task allocation, manage attendance, and ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching, performance feedback, and support team development.

Inventory, Cost Control & Equipment

  • Monitor housekeeping supplies, amenities, linen, and uniforms to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Report shortages, damages, and losses; support inventory counts and cost control measures.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment and chemicals.

Standards, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Accor Health, Safety, and Environmental standards as well as local regulations.
  • Enforce correct use of cleaning products, PPE, and safety procedures.
  • Support internal audits, brand checks, and quality inspections.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing housekeeping SOPs, cleaning schedules, and quality checklists.
  • Support room setup, opening cleans, and punch-list follow-up prior to opening.
  • Participate in system testing related to room status and maintenance reporting.
  • Take part in soft-opening rehearsals and opening-day operations.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in an international hotel environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, cleaning procedures, and room inspection processes.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage teams and priorities under pressure.
  • Basic proficiency in English; Romanian is required.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Experience with Accor standards or similar international brands is a plus.
