Job Description

As the Housekeeping Supervisor, and ambassador of the MAMA brand, while representing MAMA Shelter Belgrade, you are expected to embody the MAMA spirit. Being genuine, kind, considerate, courteous, thoughtful, positive and respectful to ALL MAMA staff, guests, vendors, contractors and anyone on the MAMA Shelter Belgrade premise is essential to performing the Housekeeping Supervisor position satisfactory. This also includes being mindful of these characteristics while representing MAMA Shelter at any time. MAMA is a unique hotel, unlike any other, providing our guests with a fun, friendly, personal human experience and staff with a fun, exciting, enjoyable place to work and your attitude is vital to MAMA’s success.

Objective: The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising the performance of the housekeeping staff.   

The Housekeeping Supervisor reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed.  
  2. Establishes schedule and plans daily work assignments.      
  3. Demonstrates leadership and training to staff.
  4. Develops and trains Housekeeping staff on Housekeeping policy and procedures.
  5. Manages Housekeeping problems.
  6. Inspects and approve staff work performance.
  7. Performs regular inspections of rooms and common areas for sanitation, order and safety.
  8. Ensures that Housekeeping staff follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
  9. Orders cleaning materials and maintains budget.
  10. Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment.
  11. Inspects storage rooms, utility and janitorial closet for upkeep and supply control.
  12. Maintains adequate inventory levels to provide clean, safe and comfortable environment.
  13. Recommends to Housekeeping Manager budgetary amounts to meet the equipment and supply needs of the hotel.
  14. Communicates with Housekeeping Manager and other Housekeeping Supervisors to adequately plan for Housekeeping services and activities.
  15. Responds to guest requests promptly and according to polices.
  16. Maintains the appearance of Housekeeping areas.

Qualifications

  • Related hotel housekeeping experience.
  • High school diploma, college preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Must possess leadership ability.
  • Must have well developed problem solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible work hours including evenings and weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and wants of guests while balancing business needs of the Company.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks.
  • Passionate and creative.
  • Team Player.
