Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Deliver professional, engaging, and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain resort grounds, including power-washing and upkeep of tile and stone walkways.
  • Keep landscapes, shrubs, and gardens manicured, including planting, weeding, fertilizing, and horticultural care.
  • Install and maintain gardens, decks, drainage and watering systems, and other approved garden features.
  • Perform alterations and construction of approved gardens as required.
  • Maintain and operate irrigation equipment throughout the resort.
  • Use gardening tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Ensure all tools and materials are properly stocked, maintained, and organized.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas and vehicles.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests related to grounds and landscaping.
  • Work independently and collaboratively on projects, including planning, sharing information, and organizing tasks.
  • Maintain a neat and professional personal presentation at all times while performing duties.
  • Being an ambassador for the Brand, Hotel, Community and Colleagues.
  • Participate in Hotel Committees and events.
  • Strict adherence to all Health & Safety training, guidelines and work practices previous, during and following an epidemic (whether local or global) that are established by
  • Accor, local government, international bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for disease control (CDC).
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of professional landscaping experience.
  • Experience in hospitality operations is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (read, write, and speak).
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one; an Intermediate Truck License is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, physically fit, dependable, and highly responsible.
  • Flexible and able to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Practice the kinetic lifting methods when moving all heavy items
  • Sitting - 0-2 hrs/day.
  • Walking/ Standing/ Bending/ Reaching - 6-8 hrs/day.
  • Pushing/Pulling - 4 hrs/day
  • Physical Effort - Does not lift weight over 50lbs
