Job Description

Finance and Business Support Manager – Mercure Oradea (Opening Spring 2026)

Be a strategic partner and trusted advisor at Mercure Oradea, ensuring the hotel’s financial stability, operational efficiency and compliance with both Accor standards and local regulations.

As Finance and Business Support Manager, you will oversee Finance, Human Resources, Purchasing, Security and Technical Administration, playing a key role in both the pre-opening phase and the hotel’s ongoing success. You will drive financial discipline, administrative excellence and cross-departmental coordination, supporting the General Manager and the leadership team in achieving business performance goals.

You will be responsible for:

Finance & Accounting

  • Lead all financial operations and ensure compliance with Accor policies and Romanian legislation

  • Prepare, monitor and analyse budgets, forecasts and monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)

  • Supervise income audit, payables, receivables and payroll accuracy

  • Maintain internal control standards and ensure accuracy of reporting to ownership and Accor

  • Support the General Manager and Ownership with financial analysis and business planning

  • Liaise with auditors, banks and fiscal authorities to ensure full compliance

Human Resources & Administration

  • Oversee HR administration, contracts and payroll coordination

  • Ensure compliance with Romanian labour legislation and Accor HR standards

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and employee documentation during pre-opening and ongoing operations

  • Foster a fair, compliant and people-oriented work environment

Purchasing & Cost Control

  • Supervise purchasing activities and supplier relations

  • Ensure transparency, best value and adherence to Accor purchasing procedures

  • Monitor inventory levels and departmental spending in coordination with department heads

Security & Technical Support

  • Oversee implementation of safety and security procedures across the hotel

  • Coordinate with the Engineering team on maintenance budgeting, procurement and compliance documentation

  • Support preventive maintenance planning and ensure operational continuity

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Develop accounting, purchasing and HR administrative systems for the hotel’s opening

  • Support the recruitment process and administrative setup for new hires

  • Monitor pre-opening budget, cash flow and capital expenditures

  • Ensure operational readiness and procedural testing before opening

 


Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality finance or business support, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

  • Strong understanding of Romanian accounting, tax, labour and safety regulations

  • Proven leadership and coordination skills across multiple support functions (finance, HR, purchasing, technical)

  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail

  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Opera Cloud and Accor systems is an advantage

  • Fluent in Romanian and English (written and spoken)

  • Ethical, reliable and proactive professional with strong communication and teamwork skills
