Job Description

As a Director of Spa and Wellness, you will be responsible for managing all areas of the Spa, Spa Reception, Tennis and Fitness Center, including its services, hours of operation, facilities, and team. You will demonstrate your leadership and interpersonal strengths to create a service delivery that is relaxing, mindful, and culturally infused in a luxury setting, while ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

What you will be doing: 

  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service, and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations
  • Liaise with the Hotel's partners, including the tennis operation
  • Follow all Company Brand Standards and required legislation guidelines
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Train colleagues with LQA standards
  • Provide colleagues with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives to reach their fullest potential
  • Being current with the latest innovative & global fitness and wellness trends is a must
  • Experienced in creating spa treatment protocols and menus
  • Possess knowledge and experience with different types of massage, body and skincare, and retail products
  • You will establish and execute clear short- and long-term goals
  • You develop the strategic direction of the department, including marketing and social activities to promote the spa and wellness facilities
  • Develop and monitor financial strategies to increase revenues while controlling operating expenses, monitoring annual budget and forecasts, reviewing monthly financial statements, utilizing yield management strategies, implementing inventory management and purchasing procedures, as well as monitoring and adjusting staffing levels, spa service appointments, and operational expenses, to maximize spa profitability
  • Selects vendors for spa retail operations and manages contract agreements
  • Oversees retail product research, product selection, and purchasing, and product display
  • Develops and manages spa promotions, including gift programs, gift with purchase, co-op marketing efforts, and holiday events.
  • Creates and coordinates special services for groups, including group gifting programs, group amenities, group turndown gifts, letters and invitations, creating special spa services for specific groups, and spa contract addendum negotiations.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include: 

  • Minimum 5 years in a luxury resort or wellness experience required, ideally with a minimum of 2 years in Hawai'i
  • The ability to understand financial information and data, and perform advanced arithmetic functions
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Book4Time is an asset
  • Current CPR certification is an asset
  • Must be enthusiastic, motivated, and a team player
  • Strong work ethic, highly responsible, reliable, and the ability to work extended hours, including evenings, public holidays, and weekends, is required
  • Proven leadership, team management, training, and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams
  • Must have experience in budgeting and reporting, such as forecasting and P&L
  • Must have outstanding experience delivering high-quality customer service
  • Display good organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture, and set the scene for high performance

Additional Information

Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 USD

Visa Requirements: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
