We are seeking a skilled Commi II specializing in Tandoor Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing authentic tandoor dishes, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
- Prepare and cook a variety of tandoor dishes, including naan, kebabs, and other traditional Indian specialties
- Operate and maintain tandoor ovens, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques
- Assist in menu planning and development of new tandoor-based recipes
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations during service
- Manage inventory of spices and ingredients specific to tandoor cooking
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in tandoor cooking techniques
- Participate in kitchen cleaning and organization tasks
- Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef or Commi with focus on tandoor cuisine
- Proficiency in various tandoor cooking techniques and methods
- In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and flavor profiles
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain tandoor ovens
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Culinary degree or diploma preferred
- Food safety certification required
- Specialization in North Indian cuisine, particularly tandoor dishes
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
- Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of Kannada is a plus
