Maybe you don't know TRIBE yet, but for the reopening we are looking for a passionate chef who will join us in introducing the new Accor brand in the bustling heart of The Hague. The current Mercure Den Haag Centraal will reopen in mid-autumn 2025 as TRIBE Den Haag Centraal!

TRIBE Den Haag Centraal is looking for a driven and creative Head Chef to elevate the culinary experience and lead a passionate kitchen team. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating amazing dishes inspired by the California Baja cuisine and igniting the passion for cooking in your team.

After the renovation, TRIBE Den Haag Centraal will be introduced as the second hotel in the Benelux. The hotel is located in the cultural heart of The Hague's city centre, the city of Peace and Justice. The location is just minutes from the main train station and 15 minutes from the beach. The hotel has 159 design rooms, 9 meeting rooms, a restaurant and bar overlooking the Spuiplein.

 


Job Description

As a Chef, you will lead a small team of 4 employees and guide the team to reach their full potential. The kitchen at TRIBE Den Haag Centraal is inspired by the Cali Baja cuisine, with modern, flavorful, and surprising dishes that align with our brand’s style. Having experience in this cuisine is an advantage.

Your Key Missions:

·         Managing the kitchen and stewarding team, while also working alongside them to ensure the highest quality of dishes.

·         Coaching: Motivate and inspire your team on a daily basis. Coach and develop your team to achieve professional success through regular 1:1 meetings, evaluations, and training.

·         Responsible for the food across all F&B outlets, including breakfast, banqueting, and the restaurant.

·         Close collaboration with the F&B Manager; together you ensure efficient purchasing and guarantee a consistent guest experience. As the Head Chef, you create the menu and ensure we purchase the best products at the best price.

·         Additionally, you manage the operational processes of the department, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and waste management, reporting any significant matters to the Operations Manager.

·         Menu engineering: We also expect our Head Chef to have excellent knowledge of menu engineering and food cost calculations, as well as being familiar with kitchen hygiene, health, and safety standards.


Qualifications

What are we looking for?

·         Proven experience as a (junior) Sous Chef, preferably in the hospitality industry (a must).

·         Strong product knowledge of menu engineering and food cost calculations, as well as being familiar with kitchen hygiene, health, and safety standards.

·         Leadership skills with a people-centric, entrepreneurial attitude.

·         Creative and innovative with a passion for cooking and creating new dishes.

·         Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, international environment.

·         Target start date is 1st of August 2025, but we are open to alternatives.

·         A salary in scale 9 according to the Horeca CLA; based on experience.

·         25 vacation days based on a full-time (38-hour) working week;
