Your purpose will be:

The purpose of this role is to support the seamless delivery of exceptional beverage service across all banqueting and events spaces within Fairmont Cheshire The Mere. The Banqueting Bar team ensures that every guest receives a refined, efficient, and memorable experience, upholding Fairmont’s five‑star standards at all times. This role contributes to the smooth running of weddings, conferences, private functions, and large‑scale events by maintaining impeccable bar operations, ensuring product quality, and delivering warm, attentive service that enhances every occasion.


Job Description

  • Act as a visible supervisory presence in the Spa Bar at all times
  • Lead the shift, allocating roles and ensuring smooth service flow
  • Represent the Spa Bar in relevant operational meetings
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation across all bar and lounge areas
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders when required
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and support strong teamwork
  • Ensure a guest‑focused culture, leading by example in service standards
  • Take and deliver orders accurately, maintaining luxury service expectations
  • Handle guest issues or complaints appropriately and escalate when needed
  • Drive sales through upselling and daily revenue awareness
  • Stay informed about business levels and upcoming events across the resort
  • Manage cash handling and financial transactions during the shift
  • Conduct pre‑shift briefings to prepare the team for service
  • Maintain full knowledge of menus, including wines, cocktails, and bar offerings

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of bar or hospitality experience, ideally within events, banqueting, or luxury environments
  • Basic food and beverage knowledge, including drink preparation and service standards
  • Level 2 Food Safety (or willingness to complete upon starting)
  • Personal Licence desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills suitable for a five‑star setting
  • Experience handling cash and POS systems beneficial
