Your purpose will be:

To support the seamless behind‑the‑scenes operation of Fairmont Cheshire The Mere by maintaining immaculate cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency across all back‑of‑house areas. The Back of House Attendant ensures that kitchens, stewarding zones, corridors, and operational spaces reflect the same level of care and excellence as guest‑facing areas. Through precision, reliability, and a commitment to luxury service standards, this role plays a vital part in delivering the Fairmont experience.


Job Description

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness across all back‑of‑house areas, including kitchens, corridors, and storage spaces
  • Support the stewarding and culinary teams by ensuring equipment, utensils, and service items are cleaned and stored correctly
  • Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and in accordance with hotel procedures
  • Ensure waste disposal and recycling processes are followed to Fairmont and environmental standards
  • Replenish cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment to support smooth daily operations
  • Assist with the organisation of storage areas, ensuring items are labelled, accessible, and neatly maintained
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure all equipment and facilities remain in excellent condition
  • Support deep‑cleaning schedules for kitchens, BOH corridors, and operational zones
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures including COSHH, manual handling, and PPE requirements
  • Collaborate with culinary, stewarding, and F&B teams to ensure smooth service flow
  • Respond to operational requests quickly to support peak service periods
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Participate in daily briefings and training sessions to stay aligned with service expectations
  • Uphold Fairmont grooming and conduct standards at all times, even in non‑guest‑facing areas

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in cleaning, stewarding, or back‑of‑house roles, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and cleaning standards
  • Knowledge of UK health & safety regulations including COSHH (training provided if needed)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, reliable, and positive attitude
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role including manual handling
  • A commitment to supporting luxury hospitality standards
