    Job Description

    The role of Assistant Reservations Manager is critical to the maximization of both our room revenue and our employees’ talent within Reservations, for The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.  This department requires strong, clear and consistent leadership with a focus on constant improvement of processes and employee performance.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Assist in managing the Daily Operations of the Reservations Department, act as Reservations Manager in his/her absence, and support the Reservations team in achieving departmental objectives (Employee Engagement, Reputation Performance Score, Reservations Accuracy, RevPar, etc.).
    • Lead the Reservations colleagues by ensuring proper hiring, training, and scheduling.
    • Schedule Reservation Agents to cover all shifts, achieve forecasted productivity, and complete bi-weekly payroll.
    • Supervise colleagues within the department to ensure that standards and policies of service are maintained.
    • Conduct valuable performance reviews and provide on-going feedback to Reservations colleagues while providing opportunities for learning and development.
    • Attend Pre-Convention and Revenue Management meetings as required.
    • Find opportunities to exceed our guests’ expectations by being intuitive, ensuring the “right guest is in the right room”, and enable our front-line colleagues to deliver exceptional service during our guests’ stays.
    • Ensure Accor Live Limitless Loyalty program reports and procedures are followed and all reservations are set up accurately.
    • Be a departmental champion for Le Club AccorHotels by conducting regular reviews of the program with the Reservations team and spot-checking calls/reservations.
    • Be actively involved in hotel and inter-department committees as required.
    • Assist in building an efficient and engaged team of employees by having an active interest of their welfare, and development.
    • Ensure that all departmental reports and correspondence are completed on time and accurately.
    • Work closely with Front Office and Sales Departments as well as AccorHotels Global Reservations to ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Work with Director, Revenue to monitor inventory and troubleshoot problem dates.
    • Build and maintain new and existing rate offers.
    • Support Tour, Leisure, and Group Reservations Agents daily to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
    • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
    • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
    • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Previous Reservations and/or leadership experience is required.
    • Very strong knowledge of the Reservation market segments such as Leisure, Convention Group, and Tour/FIT is required.
    • Knowledge of Opera PMS, Opera ORS, Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.
    • Self-motivated and able to make decisions in an unsupervised setting.
    • Able to work well under pressure and take initiative.
    • Must be well organized and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong team player with excellent leadership skills.
    • Ability to consistently stand and walk throughout shift
