Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as our new Safety Officer.

As a Safety Officer at Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha, you will play a vital role in upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and well-being across both distinguished properties. You will be responsible for ensuring a secure and compliant environment that reflects the elegance, discretion, and world-class service excellence associated with the Raffles and Fairmont brands.

Serving as a trusted guardian of guest and colleague safety, you will conduct regular inspections, monitor safety systems, and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and security protocols. You will respond promptly and professionally to incidents and emergencies, coordinating effectively with relevant teams and authorities when required.

Through vigilance, attention to detail, and a calm, reassuring presence, you will contribute to seamless and safe guest experiences. Your role will also involve supporting risk prevention initiatives, promoting safety awareness among colleagues, and ensuring that all procedures are consistently aligned with luxury hospitality standards.

In every aspect of your work, you will embody the refined professionalism of Raffles and Fairmont, ensuring that safety is delivered with precision, care, and quiet confidence, enhancing the overall guest journey while safeguarding the integrity of both hotels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections across all areas of the hotel, ensuring compliance with Raffles & Fairmont safety, security, and fire prevention standards.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to health, safety, and security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and hazards, ensuring appropriate escalation and accurate reporting.
  • Provide professional safety guidance and support to guests and colleagues via direct communication, radio, and internal coordination channels.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of hotel facilities, operational areas, emergency exits, evacuation procedures, and local safety regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests and colleagues.
  • Support risk mitigation efforts by identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions to maintain operational safety excellence.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of incidents, safety audits, and compliance checks in line with hotel standards.
  • Assist in managing emergency preparedness procedures, including drills, evacuations, and training sessions for colleagues.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all incident reports, guest information, and internal safety matters in accordance with brand standards.
  • Support investigations related to safety or security incidents, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Contribute to a proactive safety culture by promoting awareness and best practices across all departments.
  • Uphold the luxury standards of Raffles & Fairmont Doha by ensuring safety operations are delivered with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

What will you bring to this role?

  • Previous experience in a Safety, Security, Loss Prevention, or similar operational role within a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel safety, security, and fire prevention procedures, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests and colleagues in a professional and reassuring manner.
  • Ability to remain calm, observant, and decisive when managing incidents or emergency situations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks, hazards, and non-compliance in a proactive manner.
  • Basic proficiency in hotel systems and reporting tools, with familiarity in incident reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team while supporting cross-departmental coordination.
  • Physical fitness and readiness to perform duties that may include standing for long periods and conducting site inspections.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays in line with operational requirements.
