Job Description

What you will be doing:  

Reporting to the Recreation Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging services
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of Pool, hot tub,  Kids, Games Rooms, Gymnasium, Recreation areas including health club thermal area, Change Rooms, and the Boathouse
  • Ensure an adequate supply of towels is maintained
  • Assist with special events and Holidays activities as required including organizing waivers
  • Responsible for float and management of all revenues during shift from rentals of equipment and sales of merchandise
  • Conduct and enhance departmental orientation and training for all new Recreation Colleagues
  • Assist with planning, organizing and leading children’s programs and Kids Camp for conference, and hotel package groups
  • Assist with weekly Departmental audits
  • Submit weekly month end inventory counts
  • Assist with familiarizing guests and colleagues to the Recreation facilities
  • Conduct History tours, nature walks, hikes, bike rides, and boat tours as necessary
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
  • Deliver and present food and beverage items to guests
  • Process guest checks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Other duties as assigned


Your experience and skills include:

  • 1 year of supervisor experience required
  • Experience with outdoor activities – kayaking, canoeing, biking, and hiking preferred
  • Experience with children required
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required
  • Pleasure Craft Operators Card required
  • Pro Serve certification required          
  • Retail experience an asset
  • Ability to swim, with a Bronze Medallion or equivalent an asset
  • Train the Trainer certification is an asset                      
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Your team and working environment:   

  • Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel
  • Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resort in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer
  • Hospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connections   
  • Sitting: 1/2 hr/day
  • Walking: 6-8 hrs/day
  • Standing: 6-8 hrs/day
  • Bending/Reaching: 6-8 hrs/day
  • Pushing/Pulling: 6-8 hrs/day
  • Physical Effort: Does not lift weights over 80 – 100 lbs
  • Visual Effort: low
  • Environmental Stress: Medium 24-40 hrs/week outside and working in a very busy and noisy department

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
