Job Description

At Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, our Marketing professionals are ambassadors of the engaging service and authentically local experiences we offer in places of unrivalled presence. Showcase your creative flair, storytelling abilities and interpersonal skills as Marketing Manager - Content, where you will help drive market share through visual storytelling on social media and online engagement, focusing on our exceptional guest experiences, special offers and exciting events.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following;

  • Act as an in-house content creator, regularly shooting photos and videos of key happenings and property activations for inclusion on resort social channels and support in creating visual graphics for paid social promotions. 
  • Manage all resort social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Threads) with support from our Marketing Managers and Director of Public Relations, ensuring all channels are current, engaging and aligned with regional campaigns and initiatives.
  • Maintain the accuracy of online content across all hotel owned websites and third-party platforms. Ensuring a consistent tone and brand voice that embodies enthusiasm for our unique destination
  • Idea generation and execution of online content including blog posts, social media ads and e-blasts to showcase Lake Louise as a year-round destination.  
  • Plan, manage and execute photography and video shoots in collaboration with the Marketing Manager’s to create new and engaging content on an ongoing basis.
  • Contribute to development of the resorts marketing team’s seasonal and annual marketing plan, as well as regional and corporate campaigns and promotions.
  • Design and create promotional materials as required for: seasonal campaigns, events, in-house offerings and sales team collateral.
  • Work with the Marketing Managers on hotel design elements to ensure cohesive messaging and brand presence.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience with social media planning, content creation and reporting
  • Content creation skills, including photography (still, video, editing), copywriting, and light graphic design
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, and Illustrator) considered a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Content or similar an asset
  • Previous experience working with a CMS (Content Management System), Word Press, Wix etc an asset
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities required
  • Previous hotel or destination marketing experience an asset
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm, professional and courteous at all times
