Job Description

The IT Associate is responsible for providing technical support, managing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting in the maintenance and optimization of IT systems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support:

    • Provide first-line support for end-users experiencing technical issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
    • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
  2. System Maintenance:

    • Monitor and maintain IT systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Perform routine system backups and ensure data integrity.
    • Apply software updates and patches as needed.
  3. User Assistance:

    • Assist in onboarding new employees with IT equipment and software setup.
    • Provide training and support to users on various software applications and IT policies.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.
    • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  5. Project Support:

    • Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, installations, and rollouts.
    • Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies and solutions.
  6. Compliance and Security:

    • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
    • Assist in maintaining IT security measures and protocols.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an IT support role or similar position.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
    • Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting.
    • Experience with common office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications: (Preferred but not required)

  • CompTIA A+ or similar certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or similar certification.
