Novotel Melbourne South Wharf features golden 26 level tower with 347 accommodation rooms & suites, Mr. Carpano Dining and Bar and Allora Café. The hotel is complemented with direct access to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Southern Hemisphere's largest meeting space and adjacent to the DFO centre, with 180+ retail brands.


Job Description

The Guest Service Agents are the first and last impression at the hotel. The position is responsible for ensuring exceptional service is provided to guests at all times, making guests feel both welcome and comfortable. Secondary to this, the role is responsible for ensuring the front office premises are safe, clean and comfortable for guests.

Key duties include:

  • Provide passionate, knowledgeable and friendly service to external and internal guests at all times
  • Assist guest with all enquiries and complaints and provide accurate information to guests about Hotel facilities and features
  • Check guests in and out of the Hotel
  • Handle guest enquiries and provide information and assistance
  • Collect payment of accounts and issue invoices accordingly
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure relevant information is communicated between departments
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests

Qualifications

Skills and experience

  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a Hotel environment
  • Ability to provide prompt and efficient service including ability to build rapport both in person and over the telephone
  • Self-motivated with positive and professional attitude
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office and preferably in Opera
  • Ensuring strict procedures are followed for all cash/credit, cheque transactions, accounting and banking procedures, issue of keys and guest confidentiality
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
