We're looking for an experienced and visionary Director of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping operations in Cairo, Egypt. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of our housekeeping department, driving operational excellence while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and exceptional guest satisfaction. You'll work strategically to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation while building and mentoring a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding service.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine housekeeping policies, procedures, and quality standards that align with organizational goals and industry best practices
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of housekeeping staff, including supervisors and room attendants, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment
- Create, manage, and analyze departmental budgets, including labor costs, supplies, and equipment procurement, while identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to ensure consistent cleanliness, presentation standards, and compliance with established protocols
- Collaborate seamlessly with other departments to coordinate guest experiences and resolve interdepartmental challenges
- Implement and monitor comprehensive health, safety, and environmental protocols, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and sustainability practices
- Manage inventory systems and vendor relationships to optimize procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Analyze performance metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends, implement improvements, and drive operational efficiency
- Address guest complaints and feedback related to housekeeping services with empathy and decisiveness, turning challenges into opportunities for improvement
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative housekeeping practices, and champion their adoption within the department
- Recruit, onboard, and develop housekeeping staff, creating clear career paths and performance review processes
- Manage crisis situations and adapt quickly to changing operational demands while maintaining service excellence
- Proven experience of 5+ years in housekeeping management, preferably in luxury hotels, resorts, or high-end hospitality environments
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) certification or equivalent professional credential (preferred)
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff at all levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in engaging with diverse, multicultural teams
- Advanced proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and cost analysis
- In-depth knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, equipment, and industry-standard protocols
- Experience with hospitality management software and property management systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to the hospitality sector
- Strategic planning and operational management expertise
- Vendor and supplier relationship management experience
- Strong quality assurance and inspection capabilities
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability as needed
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high service standards
