BUILDING MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operates, maintains and repairs site Power Plant and related equipment
  • Through the site Building Automation System (BAS) monitors, building alarms, adjusts systems temperatures, pressures, flows to maintain safe, efficient and comfortable facility.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.
  • Performs regular facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems monitoring and inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity of facility.
  • Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancement and repair.
  • Respond and resolve plant upsets and critical equipment alarms in a manner compliant with applicable acts and legislation
  • Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
  • Responds to routine and on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
  • Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Assisting other Maintenance colleagues as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • A 4th Class Power Engineer certificate or a Journeyman Red Seal in a relevant trade
  • A minimum of one-year plant experience (in the last five years) working with tools and/or mechanical equipment
  • Proven history of working well with minimal supervision
  • High level of responsibility and commitment
  • Team player with proven success in relationship building
  • Commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests' expectations
  • Completely fluent English language skills; both written and verbal
  • Clear, precise, professional and helpful telephone manner
  • Excellent organizational skills impeccable grooming and presentation
  • Fluency in a second language would be considered an asset

    Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Constant standing and walking, Frequent bending and kneeling, Frequent carrying and lifting

    Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
