Painter – Engineering Department

As a Painter at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, you will perform highly skilled painting, finishing, and vinyl repair work to preserve the refined appearance of our property. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will ensure an exceptional visual experience for our guests and colleagues.

What you will be doing:

• Perform surface preparation including sanding, patching, caulking, and priming on walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and furnishings
• Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers to interior and exterior surfaces
• Complete painting-related work orders and touch-ups in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Perform vinyl wall covering repairs and full replacements as needed
• Accurately match vinyl patterns and textures to ensure seamless repairs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of painting and wall covering materials, tools, and work areas
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform drywall repairs and minor carpentry work as needed to support finish projects
• Support the Engineering department by assisting with general maintenance duties when required
• Provide outstanding service to internal clients by maintaining the aesthetic quality of the property

Compensation: $49.70 per Hour

Your experience and skills include:

• Proven experience as a commercial or residential painter; hospitality painting or vinyl work experience preferred
• Skilled in vinyl wall covering installation, repair, and replacement techniques
• Ability to mix, match, and apply paint with precision and care
• Basic knowledge of drywall patching, finishing, and surface preparation
• Detail-oriented with a strong eye for color, texture, and finish
• Must be able to lift over 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in elevated areas
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Highly responsible, dependable, and safety-minded
