Following Buenos Aires and Miami Beach, Faena New York, will find its home at 500 West 18th Street, overlooking the High Line in a building designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. This latest opening will be synonymous with sophistication, glamour, breathtaking artwork, and cultural trendsetting. This opening will mark the resurgence of luxury nightlife experiences in New York with dynamic food and beverage venues and programming that will make Faena the ultimate destination for the sophisticated traveler to New York.


Job Description

Living Room is a glamorous, night-only venue with outdoor space, serving bespoke and signature cocktails, crave-worthy small plates, and an eclectic wine list. Evenings come alive with nightly curated live music, artfully designed to enchant and inspire. The Living Room Barback is responsible for supporting bartenders in all operational aspects of bar service. This includes restocking supplies, preparing garnishes, maintaining cleanliness, and anticipating needs before they arise. This role is vital to ensuring swift, uninterrupted beverage service and creating a dynamic and efficient bar environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting. 

This full-time position has an hourly rate of $18.00 plus tips. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Restock liquor, wine, beer, mixers, and bar supplies throughout service 

  • Prepare fresh garnishes, juice, ice, and tools ahead of shift start 

  • Maintain bar organization and cleanliness to health and safety standards 

  • Remove empty bottles and trash discreetly and consistently 

  • Assist bartenders with replenishing glassware, napkins, and service tools 

  • Keep bar backstations organized, clean, and accessible 

  • Ensure the bar is guest-ready at all times with polished presentation 

  • Help with setting up and breaking down the bar at the beginning and end of shifts 

  • Communicate effectively with bartenders and floor managers during busy shifts 

  • Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs in advance 

  • Support other team members in clearing and restocking service areas when needed 

  • Maintain discretion and professionalism behind the bar at all times 


Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a bar or high-volume restaurant environment preferred 

  • Basic knowledge of spirits, mixers, and bar tools 

  • High level of initiative and attention to detail 

  • Ability to take direction quickly and remain composed under pressure 

  • Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification required or obtainable prior to start 

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus 

SKILLS 

  • High stamina, speed, and situational awareness 

  • Dependable team player with a “no task too small” mindset 

  • Comfortable with multitasking and fast-paced physical work 

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas 

  • Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces 

  • Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift 

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
