Job Description

Our Houseperson is responsible for carrying out allocated cleaning duties, achieving established standards of cleanliness, and supporting our Room Attendants with delivery of linen and supplies, stripping beds and collecting rubbish.  Our goal is always to provide a welcoming environment, to exceed our guests' expectations and present our hotel to a high standard. 

Your duties will include:

  • Assist the Housekeeping team through the delivery of all hotel line, chemicals, laundry, deliveries and heavy/lifting work 
  • Ensure security of all keys and equipment and strictly follow guest confidentiality policies 
  • Ensure high standards of property presentation, hygiene and cleanliness as well as ensure economic use of chemicals and linen. This includes the presentation of our outdoor areas and carpark.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned correctly, that storerooms and trolleys are kept neat and in good working order
  • Ensure all corridors are free of trays, linen trolleys or linen cages
  • Assist with the removal of rollaway beds and cots. 
  • Assist guests with general enquiries. 

Qualifications

  • Service oriented with great attention to detail 
  • Have the ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of team members 
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items up and down stairs, and to handle full linen trolleys
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably take initiative and work as a team
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Knowledge of appropriate chemicals for cleaning purposes, ensuring safe work practices are always adhered to

This is a physically demanding role, so a good level of fitness is important.  As a casual position employed under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award, your base hourly rate will be $25.85 plus applicable casual loading.
