Duty Technician

Novotel Melbourne South Wharf features golden 26 level tower with 347 accommodation rooms & suites, Mr. Carpano Dining and Bar and Allora Café. The hotel is complemented with direct access to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Southern Hemisphere's largest meeting space and adjacent to the DFO centre, with 180+ retail brands.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director of Engineering, we are currently seeking a Duty Technician to join our team. This role is suitable for someone who is experienced in a similar role and can turn their hand to anything that needs fixing.

In this role you will:

• Ensure all guest maintenance requests are resolved quickly and professionally.
• Record all maintenance tasks performed as completed or incomplete, including any necessary reports for repairs or preventative schedules.
• Assist in the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the hotel.
• Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure availability and reliability.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure guest rooms and other out of order areas are brought back into use as soon as possible.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, used and stored correctly.

Successful candidates will:

• Previous experience in a similar role/hotel environment and a qualification in trade is preferred. 
• Be self-motivated and able to work well unsupervised.
• Be able to prioritise tasks and follow specified procedures.
• Have the ability to work a variety of shifts across 7 days
• Experience in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools.
