Job Description

As Director of Finance, you will be commercially astute, & responsible for driving strong financial performance while enhancing owner relationships.  We look to the person in this position to deliver superior financial performance, ensure operational efficiencies, implement effective financial controls, and put in place practical policies and procedures.  The ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights, while partnering with the General Manager & leadership team. 

In this role you will

  • Daily management of the budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes for the hotel Including writing of the yearly budget.
  • Maximize cash flow performance of the hotel
  • Train, develop and manage the Finance team ensuring compliance, accuracy and financial integrity at all levels.
  • Report to owners on a weekly and monthly basis results, forecasts and monthly P&L.
  • Proactively monitor financial performance against forecasts and budgets.
  • Analyse variances and evaluate key performance indicators whilst communicating change via the hotel teams when needed.
  • Support the executive team on long-term business plans and manage the budget process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 5+ years experience in similar senior roles within the Hospitality industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance
  • Working knowledge of SUN cloud, OPERA cloud, Ready Workforce by Zambion, Shiji POX, P+, Adobe
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of getting the best out of people and driving high performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining and driving a view of the big picture.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a true Business Partner mentality.
  • Interpersonal skills in proactively mentoring Department Heads and teams
    in creating outstanding results through personal learnings for the individual and the business.
