Job Description

Step into a role where your sales strategy meets historic luxury. Fairmont Royal York has been the heartbeat of downtown Toronto for over 90 years. Now, we’re looking for a dynamic, relationship-driven sales leader to join us as Director, Convention Sales within our Group Sales team. 

This isn’t just about selling space — it’s about selling an experience. From high-impact corporate events to milestone celebrations, you’ll be the trusted advisor who helps bring big ideas to life in one of Canada’s most iconic hotels. 

  • Owning and exceeding sales targets for room nights, catering, and room rental revenue
  • Managing a portfolio of large group accounts and growing new business in key market segments 
  • Leading proactive sales efforts — including prospecting, sales calls, site inspections, and industry events 
  • Crafting monthly action plans that turn strategy into results 
  • Collaborating with hotel teams to ensure a seamless guest experience from booking to execution 
  • Representing Fairmont Royal York at domestic and international conferences, client events, and FAMs 
  • Maintaining the highest standards of service, luxury, and professionalism 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in hotel sales management, ideally across multiple market segments
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships that drive revenue
  • Proficient with hotel systems like Opera and tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments
  • A degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field — or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and passion for luxury service

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience working in a luxury or large-format hotel environment
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, analytics tools, or digital sales platforms
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a sales team
