Job Description

We are looking for a seasonal part time ACCOUNTING CLERK to join our Finance team at The Hoxton, Downtown LA.  We are an ambitious company in need of someone who will take on the crucial role of supporting the success of our dynamic property through supporting the management accounts in relation to the hotel and the restaurants. This role reports to the Director of Finance. 

What you’ll do…. 

  • Process the Daily Hotel banking and make deposits in the appropriate accounts. 

  • Carry out a complete daily Income Audit of the Hotel’s daily Revenue. 

  • Resolve and correct any variances in the above within a timely manner. 

  • Process Accounts Payable items including processing invoices, coding and requesting approvals. 

  • Review Front Office guest ledgers and Sales ledgers and perform Accounts Receivable functions as needed. 

  • To respond to any guest queries on a timely basis. 

  • Review and respond to credit card inquiries and chargebacks promptly. 

  • Ensure Finance Manager/Financial Controller/Hotel Operations are made aware of any continued variances, or where there may be training opportunities in other departments. 

  • Assist and support the implementation and future development of accounting systems, policies and procedures. 

  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance 


Qualifications

What we’re looking for… 

 

  • You have 1-2 years of hotel finance experience 

  • You have some bookkeeping or similarly related experience 

  • You execute. You get things done 

  • You are scarily organized 

  • You jump out of bed every morning, fizzing with energy and jazzed about what you’re doing today 

  • You are humble. There are no egos, and no drama 

  • Ability to take ownership of issues, solve problems and make effective decisions 

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to The Hoxton’s unique culture 

  • You’ll work positively and collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of delivery at work 

  • If we get stuck in a lift with you – we’ll get along nicely and have a laugh along the way
