Assistant Head Housekeeper (m/f/d)

2023 sees The Hoxton take on Europe! We’re popping up in some of our favorite cities and we’ve opened our first hotel in Germany in the city of culture and creativity, Berlin. We are now looking for an Assistant Head Housekeeper to join our team.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant and bar, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept. Our restaurant is the meeting of a North Indian communal eatery and a classic European cuisine. It brings together the characteristics of these two traditional restaurants - the tandoor ovens, Indian spices, and marinades, select prime cuts of meat, and buzzing atmosphere.

Reporting to our Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible to provide brilliant and genuinely helpful customer service for every guest looking to stay in The Hoxton, Charlottenburg.

What you’ll do…

• Together with our Head Housekeeper, take the lead in ensuring our guests experience spotless and well put together rooms that they want to come back to.
• Lead and inspire the housekeeping team by example, creating an environment where they can be themselves, feel supported and empowered.
• Take responsibility in keeping our standards for bedrooms and public areas high, through SOPs, relevant training and regular checks.
• Get actively involved in the team’s development to realise their full potential, so we grow together as a Hoxton family.
• Work closely with other teams (Front Office, Maintenance, R&B) towards the overall goal of creating a memorable experience in a beautiful space.
• Play a part in our partnership with our external housekeeping providers.

What we’re looking for…

• Previous housekeeping experience at a similar level, or someone who is ready to step into a leadership role.
• Knowledge of Opera, or similar property management systems.
• An eagle-eye for detail, you can spot a slip in standards from a mile away.
• A natural people person who people like working with. You make those around feel good at their jobs and comfortable coming to you with questions. You're great at motivating others to keep to your own high standards of service.
• You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
• You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
• You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get stuff done.
