Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Establishes good communication and good will with informal leaders and relevant members of local community

• Establishes strong relationship with contracted security guard company.

• Supervises out-scoured Security Guards for ensuring adherence to hotel policy

• Coordinates and organizes the day to day operations of the department including planning and controlling

• Manages the develop and implementation of departmental standards

• Ensures all patrolling, inspection and escort duties are performed to a high standard

• Monitors and maintains all product and performance standards and ensure action is taken when standards are not met

• Ensures firearms and other weapons are not carried by staff when on duty

• Supervises emergency drills

• Records emergency drill information in correct forms and maintain records in accordance with Novotel Danang Premier policy

• Oversees the security department including layout of security personnel and their detailed and regular training

• Carries out monthly fire inspections

• Maintains a good knowledge of the liquor act and criminal code

• Performs leadership training for all senior security personnel

• Ensures all contracted security guards are aware and trained in Novotel Danang Premier P&P

• Reports all performance concerns of contracted staff to relevant contact at contractors after informing General Manager & Executive Assistant Manager.

• Check and analyze all incoming reports to formalize action plan

• Maintain the loyalty and discipline of all security personnel

• Ensure the all security personnel as well as hotel’s staff are adhering to P&P and security procedures

• Establish good cooperation with hotel’s senior staff with other hotels

• Coordinate with the local investigator in crimes & accident handling and investigating

• Prepare security plan for specific events (seminar, conference, government guest, with wedding etc.)

• Works with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs

• Works with Director of Finance in the preparation and management of the Hotel’s budget.

• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly

• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers

• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements

• Maintains hotel in conjunction with the Crisis Management Team prepare emergency procedures upon advice from relevant authority that cover such emergencies as Fire, Power Outage, Bomb Threat, Cyclone Warnings, etc

• Fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures

• Is prepared to implement assigned tasks during emergencies such as fires, power failures and bomb threats

• Ensures departmental Risk Management Calendar actions are up to date as per monthly calendar schedule.

• Keeps General Manager Informed at all times on incidents or concerns


Qualifications

• College or vocational training

• Certificates in Fire Safety Management (Commercial Building), National Skills Recognition System, CPR and First Aid Management

• 4 years of security and safety experience and/or military/law enforcement experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Working knowledge of local laws, investigation methods, Occupational Health & Safety requirements and fire codes and life safety codes.

• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.

• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English and Vietnamese language
