Job Description

The position is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all group reservations operations while on shift with the objective of maximizing room and rate yield at the hotel. It is a full time role


Qualifications

What we are looking from candidates ; 

  • Having a full Australian working rights
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Front Office or Reservations department is highly desired
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and OPERA Cloud experience is highly required. 
  • Availability to work in rotating rosters, including weekend and public holiday
  • Service oriented with an eye for detail.
  • Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated and energetic.
  • Strong focus and passion for hotel operations
  • Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
  • Time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong personal integrity

The main duties ; 

  • Responsible for the sales and management of all group bookings of 8 rooms or more that do not require conference spaces (except breakfast) from the time of enquiry until the group departs from the property.
  • This also includes the management of PCO group blocks relating to inventory, payment and group setup, where that group does not include conference spaces/catering (except breakfast).
  • Handle enquiries for group bookings via email or phone during the shift, communicate immediately, and provide a reply or confirmation within a reasonable timeframe (48 hours).
  • Ensure a prompt input of reservations and data for the next 3-month period for all group enquiries & bookings (within 48 hours).
  • Handle any other department issues related to groups (including but not limited to follow up on prepayment, routing and vouchers).
  • Preparation of group information sheets (group movements) and briefing of Hotel stakeholders prior to arrival of group.
  • Manage Hotel inventory in relation to group reservations and monitor potential wash of business.
  • Produce reports and statistics as requested by the Reservations Manager. This will include but not limited to, Group Wash and Business Turndown reports and 3-month Group Forecasts.
